Synopsis Planning (Fergal)

Our film is an Action/Thriller and before we could start on our opening sequence we had to create a short synopsis of our entire film.
We wanted to use an exciting genre that would grab the audience and make them want to see the film, but we also wanted a genre that would captivate the audience and make them think about what is going to happen and not be able to predict the next move that was going to be made. We had a look at lots of different opening sequences that other people had made and analysed which genres would be most efficient in captivating our audience and we chose Action and Thriller as these two genres both captivated and grabbed the audiences attention.

We started off by researching a typical Action and Thriller film sequence, which was exciting because for an Action genre film sequence it started off with the bad guys doing something to disturb the natural environment for example a big explosion in the town centre, then the good guy tracks him down and capture the bad guy.
Where as in a Thriller, which is usually mixed with the Horror genre, has less violence and more of the scary factor this makes it good to watch. This is one of the main factors we chose an Action Genre and the Thriller genre because they are both gripping genres and there are not that many films that are both types.

As we started to develop our synopsis we started to come out with some good ideas, we wanted our film to be a little be like the film 21 which is an Action/ Thriller it is about a group of people who go to casino's and win lots of money, after looking at this film we came with an idea, we thought that we would incorperate lots of different elements from lots of different films.
