Alterations Made Along the Way (Fergal)

There were so many alterations we made along the way: to start off with we had a schedule that consisted of all the dates and times of where we were going to meet and film, it had where we going to film and who would be needed in each shot, that's what we had to start off with but of course there are always things that either go wrong or don't go the way we planned.

The first week started well, we got the first scene shot and edited but the second week half way through the week one of our members had to leave the country for a week because something more important happened. this was unfortunate for our group, because it meant that we lost a member of our group, on the other hand during the time that he was gone we got a lot more done than we expected. This completely changed our schedule because we needed all members of our group to do editing together. Instead we left the editing until our other member got back, we had two weeks left to film three scenes, find the right music and put the whole thing together, our schedule had effectively been thrown out the window and we were going with the flow we spent most of our evenings at school editing and finding music and at times i struggled with this.

Although we had planned everything, we did not plan for anything to go wrong which meant  that when things did go wrong we weren't prepared and didn't know what to do.

Editing Schedule

This is the Editing schedule that we first produced so that we could loosly use it to figure out when we were going to edit

12/11/11- First editing sesion start look at how to edit our movie and, and edit first scene.

15/11/11- Edit second scene and finish off first scene edits, put first and second scene together

21/11/11- Add all the scenes that we have done together and sort them out.

22/11/11- Edit another flash back and fit it into our sequence

24/11/11- Edit another flash back scene and add some scene changes to each scene

25/11/11- Edit other flash back scene, start to look for music to play whilst the sequence is playing, has to be related to our genre.

28/11/11- Edit one flash back scene and carry on finding music and sounds to go with it

29/11/11- Finish off editing and add the music to it.

Synopsis Planning (Fergal)

Our film is an Action/Thriller and before we could start on our opening sequence we had to create a short synopsis of our entire film.
We wanted to use an exciting genre that would grab the audience and make them want to see the film, but we also wanted a genre that would captivate the audience and make them think about what is going to happen and not be able to predict the next move that was going to be made. We had a look at lots of different opening sequences that other people had made and analysed which genres would be most efficient in captivating our audience and we chose Action and Thriller as these two genres both captivated and grabbed the audiences attention.

We started off by researching a typical Action and Thriller film sequence, which was exciting because for an Action genre film sequence it started off with the bad guys doing something to disturb the natural environment for example a big explosion in the town centre, then the good guy tracks him down and capture the bad guy.
Where as in a Thriller, which is usually mixed with the Horror genre, has less violence and more of the scary factor this makes it good to watch. This is one of the main factors we chose an Action Genre and the Thriller genre because they are both gripping genres and there are not that many films that are both types.

As we started to develop our synopsis we started to come out with some good ideas, we wanted our film to be a little be like the film 21 which is an Action/ Thriller it is about a group of people who go to casino's and win lots of money, after looking at this film we came with an idea, we thought that we would incorperate lots of different elements from lots of different films.
